Consensual

This blog is down, down-tempo, so I apologize in-advance, but I think it is worth discussing.    I titled this as consensual for a reason, in that it implies that we make a conscious decision to participate in the fetish scene, whatever it may be.  It also implies that we are of an age that we can responsibly make this decision.

Recently, I have read two stories of parents using duct tape to bind their very young children in some one way of discipline, and posting it online.  I find this to be unnerving and disturbing to my core. It is abusive and irresponsible behavior that is absolutely unacceptable under any terms.  I feel very bad for their children and sickened by the parents.

Regardless of all else except the protection of these children and well being, it places an undue burden on us who actually like and participate in the Scene.  Our participation is consensual, while those who cannot make this rational decision, it is offensive-disparaging and plan awful to have been forced upon.
