It is again, unseasonably warm today. This weather really has me concerned that we are treading deeper into a drought. The last ten years haven't been to good for the southwest, though we had some good rain in the last two years, a hydrologic region cannot have a positive water balance if eight of those ten years were below low average precipitation.
This could be a new pattern for California and over all other regions around the world sharing the same Mediterranean-type climate, namely caused by climate shifts or climate change. I believe in climate change whole heartily-this drought causal relationship is difficult to ascertain. However, climate change-globally is inevitable. The affects will be global-mind you, and on a scale that Al Gore did not convey in his movie. He couldn't scare the bejesus out of you, okay?!
Truly the catastrophic affects will be hard to calculate, but do so, I recommend it.
